the Mount Pleasant Community

In late April, the Hach was approached by Romanian filmmaker and producer Ana Mateescu for her work on documenting the people who make up the Mount Pleasant community, which is funded in part by the government of Canada.
In my country, I worked as a TV producer and filmmaker for a Romanian TV station (PROTV). I worked 14 years in the same place.
I made many documentaries: in Iraq about Abu Ghraib prison, in Holland about transsexual [people's lives] …. I love to listen to people’s stories. I love to discover new things. Maybe that is the reason we came here.
Read more about Ana here.
As part of her efforts to present the individuals who make up this small but growing community in Vancouver, Ana documented our window paintings in late April, and submitted it to the Canadian Film Centre’s SHORTSNONSTOP Festival. She recently premiered the series in Vancouver at the Livable Laneways Festival, a program put on by VivaVancouver, on July 28th. We are very proud to be a part of her series, and will also present her other series here soon. Please enjoy Ana’s video (if it does not appear below, please visit the original link here):
Dear Ana, thank you for making us a part of your film, we are honoured & grateful.
